There’s an old man way up in the mountains
He tells a story of a long, long time ago
When we were smiling, we danced and sang
Makes us feel like t’was a hundred years ago
He’s a wise man, he’s lived for many a year
He’s all alone since the time he chose to go
His face so radiant, with so much love
He’s found a new life, he’s found a new world
He’s the old man who went when he was young
Left behind his wine and women and songs
Said I’m goin’away for a long time
And when I return, I won’t come home
As he talks on, we feel the glow
There’ll come a time when he’ll return to us below
Teach us the new way, our emotions control
Renounce desires and leave our world
So we heard and we played intent
But to hold was too much - we did relent
So here we are just like the way he said
There’s just one chance to steer ahead
What he’s saying now isn’t hard to learn
But a short cut is what we really yearn
For if we go on the way we’re going on
It’ll be like living, a living alone
Though the future’s been told years before
This is the kaliyug and death’s in store
Belief may just, alleviate our fate
And help the old man justify his stake
So listen now to the story he did relate
It’s from the Vedas, it’s all we must intake
It’s the one and only way to attain our goals
Cease our rebirth, release our souls
