Sita was held captive in Ravan’s palace. She spent her time in the garden, confident that Ram would come to rescue her. A mighty flying monkey, named Hanuman, who was a devotee of Ram, offered his help in finding Sita and followed the trail of her jewellery, which led to the southernmost coast of India. Across the sea was Ravan’s palace and Hanuman flew to it, where he found the disconsolate Sita, crying beneath a tree in the garden. He reassured her that Ram would save her. Sita had full faith in her husband and his true love for her.
